The Btpilates video-based movement assessment
Video yourself while following the video demonstration, then assess your performance (score sheet and tips provided).
Video of assessment exercises
(Scroll down for instructions…)
(The video demonstrates 18 individual tests)
Why do the video-based movement assessment?
Because:
It’s quick and easy to do
It predicts your ability to participate in a wide range of sports and occupations with minimal risk of injury.
It highlights your movement weaknesses so you can work on improving them (tip: use the test exercise as your improvement exercise).
Go it alone, or seek help from a coach!
You can do your own assessment, but for best results, I recommend seeking help from a coach or movement professional. They can score your video, assess your skills, and prescribe an exercise plan that fits your needs and goals.

Instructions
Step 1: Video yourself while you follow the moves on the video! (takes seven minutes):
(There are 18 individual tests)
Step 2: View your video and score your performance
Download and print this pdf document.
Using the pdf, go through each exercise, giving it a score from zero to three (zero means you can't do the exercise).
Total your scores (this will give you a score out of 54). Now double your score and subtract six. This will give you a score that is an approximate percentage of “test perfect”.
Step 3: Create your corrective exercise program
Look for your test weaknesses and design a program to improve them (tip: your weak test exercise can be used as one of your improvement exercises).
To optimise your exercise program, you should seek help and advice from a coach, physiotherapist or movement professional. (Your test results will create great discussion points!..)
Feedback and questions?
Step 4: Repeat
Repeat the test in 3 to 6 weeks time. - Did you improve? Did you solve your movement weakness or weaknesses? Are you now less injury-prone and more capable of achieving your lifestyle goals?
